Indian single malt whisky brand Indri has unveiled its Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026, a limited-edition release matured in Ruby Port casks sourced from Portugal. Bottled at a cask strength of 58.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), the new expression comprises just 180 individually numbered bottles and is available in the UK through select specialist retailers. The whisky is priced at £200, approximately ₹25,500, positioning it as a premium offering for collectors and enthusiasts of Indian single malts.
The 2026 release marks the fourth edition of Indri’s annual Diwali Collector’s series, which began in 2023. Developed under the guidance of master blender Surrinder Kumar, the whisky is distilled in small batches using indigenous six-row Indian barley. The distillery is located in Indri village in Haryana, near the foothills of the Himalayas, where the region’s distinctive climate, characterised by hot summers and cool winters, contributes to the maturation process and the whisky’s flavour profile. Indri produces its spirit using traditional copper pot stills before maturing it in carefully selected casks.

For the 2026 edition, the distillery has selected Ruby Port casks, which previously held the sweet fortified wine produced in Portugal’s Douro Valley. According to the brand’s tasting notes, the whisky opens with aromas of black cherries, blackberries and ripe plums, complemented by raisins, figs, toffee and vanilla. The palate features honeyed fruit, almonds, hazelnuts, cinnamon and liquorice, leading to a full-bodied, velvety finish with gentle oak influences.
Commenting on the release, Surrinder Kumar said the Ruby Port Cask expression explores new dimensions of Indian single malt while retaining the distinctive character of Indri. He highlighted the influence of Portuguese wine casks and the unique climatic conditions of the Haryana distillery in shaping the whisky. Kumar described the edition as a collector-focused release celebrating heritage, craftsmanship and modern India.
