Mikiamo, the Italian liqueur brand from Nuvola Spirits, has expanded its portfolio in India with the launch of Amaro Rosso, a premium Italian red bitter liqueur inspired by the Roman legend of Lupa, the She-Wolf associated with the origins of Rome. Crafted in Italy, Amaro Rosso is made using a blend of 16 Italian herbs and botanicals, including gentian root, rhubarb, cinchona bark, orange peel and cardamom. The liqueur delivers a distinctive combination of bitter, citrus and herbal notes, followed by a lingering finish.
The new Amaro Rosso brings together Italian heritage, traditional aperitivo culture and contemporary cocktail occasions. Drawing inspiration from the story of Lupa, the brand has positioned the product around themes of strength, resilience and enduring spirit, while connecting the mythology of Rome with Italy’s long-standing bitter liqueur tradition.

“Amaro Rosso is an expression of the Italian aperitivo through the lens of one of Rome’s most iconic legends. Lupa represents strength, resilience and an enduring spirit, and we wanted to translate that character into a liqueur that feels both rooted in tradition and relevant to the modern Indian consumer,” said Aakriti Kochhar Sachdeva, Co-founder, Nuvola Spirits.
With an alcohol content of 25% ABV, Amaro Rosso is designed for both traditional and contemporary serves. It can be enjoyed chilled over ice, mixed with sparkling water or tonic, or used in a Spritz with Prosecco. Its bittersweet character also makes it suitable for classic cocktails such as the Negroni, giving consumers multiple ways to experience the Italian red bitter.

The launch expands Mikiamo’s growing Italian liqueur portfolio in India, following the introduction of Mikiamo Limoncello and Mikiamo Meloncello. With Amaro Rosso, the brand is entering the Italian bitter liqueur segment while seeking to create new consumption occasions around aperitivo and cocktail culture.
“With Amaro Rosso, we are continuing our journey of bringing authentic, globally inspired liqueurs to India while creating new occasions and experiences around how consumers discover and enjoy premium spirits,” Sachdeva added.

The launch comes at a time when India’s premium beverage market is witnessing growing consumer interest in international drinking styles, premium liqueurs and cocktail-led consumption. Mikiamo is positioning Amaro Rosso within this evolving category by highlighting its Italian origin, botanical composition and association with the traditional Italian aperitivo ritual.
Amaro Rosso is available in a 750 ml bottle at an MRP of Rs 2,110. The product is currently available in Goa, with planned launches in Delhi and Karnataka. While the liqueur is crafted with an Italian-inspired formulation, it is produced and bottled in Goa, adding an India-based production element to Mikiamo’s portfolio.
Founded in 2023 by Aakriti Kochhar Sachdeva and Raghav Sachdeva, Nuvola Spirits develops premium spirits inspired by global drinking cultures. Its portfolio includes Mikiamo Italian Liqueurs and Seoulmate Soju, with its products available across markets including Goa, Delhi, Karnataka and Haryana.
