New Delhi, August 2026: Sherry Platinum Whisky, a premium blended whisky from Alcostar Distillers part of the Alcostar Group of Companies, Shimla has crossed the one-million SKU milestone within just a few months of its launch, marking a significant early achievement as the brand continues expanding its footprint across Indian markets.
The company attributes the milestone to strong consumer acceptance and growing market momentum since its debut. Starting from its initial launch markets, Sherry Platinum has expanded its presence across Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, building retail traction with each new state entry. The brand is priced in the accessible-premium segment, with a 750ml bottle positioned between approximately ₹500 and ₹960 depending on the state.
A key factor behind the growth has been the performance of the brand’s full SKU portfolio rather than reliance on a single variant or pack size. Consumers have responded positively across different formats, helping Sherry Platinum strengthen its retail shelf presence and support faster distribution expansion. The brand’s contemporary bottle design and premium packaging have also contributed to its visibility in a competitive whisky category at the retail level.

At the core of the brand is its blend of Indian grain spirits and imported Scotch malts, matured in oak casks to deliver what the company describes as a smooth, warm profile suited to consumption neat, with water, soda or ice. The brand’s philosophy “Smoothness Was Never So Bold” reflects this positioning, combining accessible drinking character with a premium visual identity.
Alcostar Group has positioned Sherry Platinum as part of a broader, diversified alco-beverage portfolio alongside other brands the company has introduced in regional markets. Company leadership has said the strategy centres on building long-term retail partnerships and consumer engagement rather than short-term distribution pushes an approach that appears to be delivering results at an early stage of the brand’s lifecycle.
Crossing one million SKUs this early reflects a combination of consumer uptake, distribution growth and coordinated execution across the brand’s retail and partner network. With a presence now established across six states, Sherry Platinum enters its next phase with considerable commercial momentum.
