Chivas Regal has launched a special limited-edition 16-year-old whisky in partnership with Charles Leclerc, who is also the brand’s global ambassador. This is the first time Chivas Regal has released a 16-year-old whisky, and it’s also Leclerc’s first signature blend.
This whisky was created together by Leclerc and Chivas Regal’s master blender Sandy Hyslop. The idea started when Leclerc challenged Hyslop to create something new and unique. From there, both worked closely to develop the final blend.
Leclerc said that the number 16 is very important to him, as it has been part of his racing career for years. When he visited Scotland and saw how whisky is made, he was inspired to create his own blend. He also said both he and the brand believe in always improving and pushing limits.

The whisky is made by blending 16 different whiskies, each aged for at least 16 years. During the process, Leclerc tasted different styles before choosing one that includes sherry cask-aged Longmorn single malt. After learning more about whisky-making in Scotland, he helped finalise the recipe and suggested making it a 16-year-old expression.

In terms of taste, the whisky has sweet flavours like mandarin, raisins, and honey, along with hints of cinnamon and toffee. It also has notes of orange marmalade, apple cake, toasted wood, and a bit of spice, with a long-lasting finish.
This limited-edition Chivas Regal 16-year-old whisky is now available on the brand’s official website and selected stores.
