Chandigarh, October 8, 2026: Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited has expanded the availability of its luxury Indian single malt whisky brand Gamber Valley to Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, strengthening the brand’s presence in North India. The two markets were identified as priority markets when Gamber Valley was launched in May 2026, alongside Haryana. With the latest rollout, the brand’s expressions are now available across Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh.
Gamber Valley is distilled, matured and bottled entirely at Alcobrew’s facility in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, giving the Indian single malt a strong connection with its Himalayan origins. The brand’s positioning is built around the region’s distinctive climatic conditions, particularly the sharp variations between daytime and nighttime temperatures. According to Alcobrew, these conditions are believed to accelerate the interaction between the whisky and oak casks, helping extract wood sugars, tannins and other flavour compounds during maturation.
The initial Gamber Valley portfolio comprises two expressions — Gamber Valley Private 1 Edition and Gamber Valley The Vault Series. Both expressions are now available to consumers in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, while Alcobrew plans to expand the brand to additional markets including Rajasthan, Odisha, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi NCR through a phased rollout.

The expansion comes as Indian single malt whisky continues to gain recognition among premium spirits consumers, with domestic brands increasingly competing in the luxury whisky segment. Gamber Valley aims to leverage its Himalayan provenance and local production credentials as it builds its presence among consumers looking for premium Indian whisky.
Commenting on the Chandigarh launch, Romesh Pandita, Chairman and Managing Director of Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited, said the brand’s connection with Solan and Chandigarh makes the market particularly significant for the company. He highlighted that Gamber Valley is distilled, matured and bottled in Solan, while Alcobrew also operates another facility in Dera Bassi, making the region an important part of the company’s operations.
Ashutosh Rajput, Chief Operating Officer, Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited, said Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh offer an attractive consumer base for a luxury spirits brand, with young and cosmopolitan consumers increasingly willing to explore premium whisky categories. He said Gamber Valley is aimed at consumers who approach whisky with greater intent and curiosity, adding that the company expects discerning whisky drinkers to increasingly consider Indian single malts alongside established international whisky-producing regions.
Gamber Valley has also received international recognition. Earlier in 2026, the brand scored 92 points at the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2026, placing it among the higher-rated Indian single malts recognised by the competition during the year. The recognition adds to Alcobrew’s efforts to establish Gamber Valley as a premium Indian single malt whisky brand in both domestic and international markets.
Alongside the launch of Gamber Valley, Alcobrew has also joined the Indian Malt Whisky Association (IMWA), further strengthening its engagement with India’s growing single malt whisky ecosystem. With its phased expansion into major states and metropolitan markets, the company is positioning Gamber Valley as a new entrant in India’s rapidly developing premium and luxury whisky segment.
