Uppal Brewers & Distillers (UBD), the premium spirits arm of The Uppal Group, has launched Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend (MDTB), a new premium Indian whisky aimed at India’s growing base of discerning spirits consumers. The launch strengthens UBD’s premium whisky portfolio and comes ahead of the festive season, as the company looks to expand its presence in the Indian spirits market.
Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend is available in a 750 ml bottle at an MRP of ₹1,240, with an alcohol content of 42.8% ABV. The whisky has initially been launched in Delhi, with UBD planning to expand its availability to Odisha, Karnataka, Haryana, Goa, and Daman & Diu as part of its wider market expansion strategy.
The brand name Madhvan combines “Madhu”, meaning nectar, and “Van”, meaning forest, drawing inspiration from India’s natural richness. UBD has positioned Tribute Blend for a new generation of consumers who see premium whisky as a reward for personal achievements and milestones rather than simply a symbol of status.

The product’s packaging has been designed to reinforce this positioning, with a front-facing tiger serving as the key visual element across the bottle and canister. The design combines a contemporary premium aesthetic with elements intended to communicate confidence, sophistication and individuality.
Kanhav Uppal, Co-Owner of Uppal Brewers & Distillers, said the company aims to build a distinctive premium Indian spirits business with a long-term focus. He described Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend as a whisky created for consumers who recognise their strengths, make considered choices and allow their achievements to speak for themselves.
Ankur Sachdeva, CEO and Co-Founder of UBD, said India’s premium whisky consumers are becoming increasingly discerning and are looking for quality, character and relevance in the brands they choose. He added that the company’s experience with Soorahi in Delhi has provided a foundation for the launch of MDTB, with Delhi continuing to remain an important market for UBD.
Smita Singh, Senior General Manager at UBD, said the company focused on both the liquid and packaging while developing Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend. According to the company, the whisky has been crafted to offer smoothness, depth and refinement, while the bottle and canister have been designed to deliver a cohesive premium brand experience.
The launch comes at a time when premiumisation is reshaping India’s spirits industry. According to industry data cited by UBD, overall spirits consumption grew at around 3% CAGR between 2019 and 2025, while the premium segment expanded by 22% during the same period. Premium-and-above brands now account for approximately 43% of India’s spirits market by volume, highlighting the growing opportunity for premium Indian whisky brands.
With Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend, UBD is seeking to strengthen its presence in the premium Indian whisky segment while expanding its geographical footprint beyond Delhi. The company’s planned entry into multiple states is expected to support its broader ambition of building a portfolio of premium spirits for India’s evolving consumer market.
