Camikara, India’s pure cane juice aged rum brand, has secured three Silver medals at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2026, strengthening its growing reputation in the global premium spirits market. The brand’s Camikara 3 Year Old, 8 Year Old and 12 Year Old expressions were each recognised with Silver medals at the UK-based competition, which is regarded as one of the leading international spirits contests. The achievement places the Indian rum brand alongside established producers from traditional rum-making regions.
The latest awards add to a strong year for Camikara. At the SIP Awards 2026 in California, Camikara 8 Year Old was named Best in Class – Platinum in the Rum Aged/Rhum Agricole Aged category, while Camikara 3 Year Old received a Gold medal. Both expressions also won the Innovation Award following the competition’s judging process. The results underline the increasing international recognition of Indian-made rum.

Camikara is produced using 100% fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses, following the production style associated with rhum agricole. The brand says its rum is made without added colour, flavour or sweetener and is matured in American oak casks. Its name comes from Sanskrit and means “liquid gold,” reflecting the brand’s focus on sugarcane and Indian heritage.
The Camikara range includes three aged expressions, each offering a different maturation profile. Camikara 3 Year Old is bottled at 42.8% ABV and is designed to be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in cocktails. The 8 Year Old is also bottled at 42.8% ABV and is positioned as a sipping rum, with flavours including raisins, dates, honey, caramel, prunes and gentle oak spice. The 12 Year Old is the most mature expression in the range and is bottled at 50% ABV, offering notes of honey, vanilla, bitter chocolate, ripe banana, orange peel and charred wood.

Camikara’s ageing process takes place in northern India’s hot climate, where significant temperature variations influence the interaction between the rum and oak. With three Silver medals at the ISC 2026 and further recognition at the SIP Awards, Camikara is helping put Indian rum on the international spirits map while showcasing a distinctive pure cane juice approach to rum-making.
