Sazerac has expanded its whiskey portfolio in India with the launch of two new brands, American Wolf and Southern Comfort Reserve Whiskey, as the US-based spirits company looks to strengthen its presence in the country’s rapidly growing whiskey market. The new brands will initially be introduced in Pune, Nagpur and Nashik before being rolled out in phases across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
American Wolf combines American whiskey with Indian grain and malt spirits and is positioned as a bold and distinctive whiskey offering for Indian consumers. The brand will initially be available in 750ml, 180ml and 90ml formats, with the 750ml bottle priced at approximately ₹1,070, subject to applicable state taxes and local pricing regulations.

Southern Comfort Reserve Whiskey is positioned as a more approachable and easy-drinking expression, combining American whiskey with Indian malt and grain spirits. The 750ml bottle will be priced at approximately ₹1,500, with smaller pack sizes expected to be introduced subsequently as the brand expands its market presence.
Both American Wolf and Southern Comfort Reserve Whiskey will be available from August 2026 through select retail outlets, bars and restaurants. The phased launch strategy will allow Sazerac to build distribution and consumer awareness across key Indian markets before expanding the brands into additional states.

The latest launches add to Sazerac’s existing Indian portfolio, which includes internationally recognised whiskey brands such as Buffalo Trace, W.L. Weller, Benchmark and Sazerac Rye. By introducing new expressions that combine American whiskey with Indian grain and malt spirits, Sazerac is seeking to broaden its offering across different consumer segments and strengthen its position in India’s competitive whiskey market.
The launch of American Wolf and Southern Comfort Reserve Whiskey comes as premiumisation and product diversification continue to shape India’s alcoholic beverages industry. With an initial focus on major markets in Maharashtra and a planned expansion into Karnataka, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, Sazerac is positioning the two new brands for wider growth in the Indian whiskey category
