New Delhi, June 15, 2026: Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited has joined the Indian Malt Whisky Association (IMWA), marking a significant milestone in its entry into the luxury spirits segment with the launch of Gamber Valley Indian Single Malt Whisky, Alcobrew’s first single malt offering. The debut range includes two expressions—Private Edition 1 and Vault Series—both distilled, matured, and bottled entirely at the company’s facility in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
The induction of Alcobrew into IMWA underscores the growing momentum of India’s premium malt whisky segment and reinforces the association’s mission to uphold the highest standards of authenticity, quality, and craftsmanship in Indian malt whisky production.
Established as the representative body of India’s malt whisky producers, IMWA has developed stringent quality and production standards for Indian single malt and pure/vatted malt whiskies. These standards require whisky to be produced from 100% malted barley at a single distillery, distilled in copper pot stills, and matured for a minimum of three years in oak casks with a capacity of less than 700 litres within India. Gamber Valley Indian Single Malt Whisky has been crafted in full compliance with these guidelines.

With Alcobrew’s inclusion, IMWA’s membership now comprises leading Indian malt whisky producers, including Amrut Distilleries, John Distilleries, Radico Khaitan, Piccadily Agro Industries, and Diageo India. Collectively, these members account for over 75% of the Indian single malt whisky market.
The association’s expanding membership reflects the rapid evolution of the category. In 2024, Indian single malts surpassed imported Scotch whiskies in volume sales for the first time, capturing approximately 53% of the country’s total single malt market.
