Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited has expanded its premium Indian single malt whisky portfolio with the launch of two permanent expressions under its Gamber Valley brand — Gamber Valley Pravah and Gamber Valley Tapah. Introduced during the 2026 festive season, the new whiskies mark an important step in the company’s luxury spirits strategy and aim to bring the character of its Himalayan-origin single malts to a wider consumer base.
Both expressions are distilled, matured and bottled at Alcobrew’s distillery in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. Made using Indian malted barley and water with Himalayan character, the whiskies are matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% alcohol by volume (ABV). The initial launch covers Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh, with availability in 750 ml bottles from November 2026.
Gamber Valley Pravah is an unpeated single malt designed around a smooth and approachable flavour profile, while Tapah introduces a peated expression with gentle smoke and a distinctive Himalayan identity. Pravah is priced between ₹3,600 and ₹5,500, while Tapah carries a price range of ₹4,300 to ₹7,500, depending on state duties and taxes.

According to Chairman and Managing Director Romesh Pandita, the launch builds on the company’s vision of creating Indian single malts distinguished by their regional provenance and craftsmanship. COO Ashutosh Rajput said the company intends to expand distribution nationally over time, while positioning Tapah in the emerging Himalayan-origin peated Indian single malt category.
Gamber Valley follows Indian Malt Whisky Association standards, using 100% malted barley, copper pot still distillation and a minimum three-year maturation period in Indian oak casks. The brand also secured 92 points at the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2026
The packaging reflects the expressions’ contrasting styles, with Pravah featuring Himalayan-blue and gold detailing, while Tapah uses a matte-black and gold design. The distillery’s lower Himalayan climate, including a reported day-to-night temperature variation of around 15°C, is central to the brand’s maturation story and distinctive character.
