Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin, created by Radico Khaitan, brings together the heritage of Rajasthan, Indian botanicals and contemporary gin-making techniques in a spirit inspired by the Golden City of Jaisalmer and the Thar Desert. Designed to reflect a distinctly Indian identity, the gin combines traditional gin characteristics with botanicals sourced from different parts of India and international origins, creating a layered flavour profile and a strong sense of place.
The inspiration behind Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin comes from the distinctive landscape and cultural heritage of Jaisalmer, known for its sandstone architecture, historic fort, havelis and desert setting. The brand’s black-and-gold packaging reflects this association, while the black buck and Jaisalmer Fort imagery on the bottle reinforce its Rajasthan-inspired identity. The concept positions the gin as an Indian craft spirit that draws on local heritage while presenting itself in a contemporary premium format.

At the heart of Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin is a carefully selected combination of seven botanicals. These include sweet orange peel from Nagpur, Darjeeling green tea, liquorice from Haryana, lemon peel from Madhya Pradesh and cubeb pepper from South India, along with juniper berries from Europe and caraway seeds from Indonesia. The combination brings together citrus, herbal, sweet and spicy notes, while juniper provides the classic foundation associated with gin. The botanical profile has been developed under the guidance of Master Blender Anup Barik.
The production process also plays an important role in shaping the spirit. Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin uses a triple-distilled neutral grain spirit, followed by further distillation in a traditional copper pot still. The botanicals are incorporated during the distillation process to help integrate their individual aromas and flavours into the final spirit. The production approach focuses on maintaining balance between the botanicals while creating a gin that can be enjoyed both as a standalone spirit and in cocktails.

Since its launch, Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin has also gained recognition at international spirits competitions. The gin has received Grand Gold recognition at Monde Selection, followed by the Diamond Trophy, as well as a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. These accolades form part of the wider growth of India’s premium spirits sector, with Indian-made gins, whiskies and other spirits increasingly gaining attention on international platforms.
Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin is also positioned as a versatile cocktail spirit. Alongside the classic Gin & Tonic, the gin can be used in serves such as the Maharaja Mojito, made with fresh lemon juice, bitter lemon and organic agave syrup. Other cocktails associated with the brand include the Strawberry Gin Smash, Cherry Gin Sour, London Lemonade and Black Buck Gin & Tea, showcasing the gin’s ability to complement citrus, fruit, tea and spice-led flavour
