Shekhar Swarup appointed CEO of Globus Spirits

New Delhi, March 5, 2026:
Globus Spirits has appointed Shekhar Swarup as its new Chief Executive Officer, promoting a long-time company leader to head the next phase of the liquor maker’s growth.

Swarup has been associated with the company for more than 17 years and most recently served as Joint Managing Director, a position he held since 2017. During this time, he played an important role in expanding the company’s manufacturing operations and strengthening its portfolio of consumer brands.

Earlier in his career at Globus Spirits, Swarup worked as Executive Director from 2011 to 2017 and also held another executive role at the company between 2008 and 2011.

Based in New Delhi, Globus Spirits operates across multiple segments of the alcohol industry. The company manufactures and markets Indian Made Indian Liquor (IMIL) and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), while also producing bulk alcohol and providing contract bottling services to other liquor brands.

Globus Spirits is among the largest producers of Grain Neutral Spirit in India, with a production capacity of about 500 kilolitres per day across four states. The company also bottles around 1.5 million nine-litre cases every month, with nearly 80% coming from its own brands.

Apart from his role at Globus Spirits, Swarup is also the founder of India Craft Spirits Co and currently serves as Vice President of the All India Distillers’ Association.

He studied Business and Management at the University of Bradford and later completed the Owner/President Management programme at Harvard Business School between 2022 and 2024.

With Swarup taking over as CEO, the company is focusing on continuity in leadership while aiming to further strengthen its position in India’s growing and competitive spirits market.
