Amrut Distilleries has brought pride to Indian spirits by securing the 27th spot in Drinks International’s prestigious World’s Most Admired Whiskies 2025 list. This is a remarkable jump from its earlier positions—43rd in 2023 and 40th in 2024—showing its steady rise in global recognition.
The brand’s journey has been shaped by the vision of Chairman Neelakanta Rao Jagdale, who made history in 2004 by launching India’s first single malt whisky in the UK.
Amrut’s success story is backed by rapid growth. Its production has soared from 3.5 lakh litres in 2019 to 10 lakh litres in 2024, thanks to increasing demand in both India and international markets. The brand has also made a strong mark in global competitions, winning five gold medals at the 2024 International Spirits Challenge.
This year, Amrut marked its 75th anniversary with a milestone release—Amrut Expedition, a 15-year-old single malt, the oldest ever produced in India.
With its latest achievement, Amrut is not just proving the quality of its whiskies but also helping put Indian single malts firmly on the world stage.
