Mount Everest Breweries Limited (MEBL) has filed a Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to raise ₹300 crore through an initial public offering (IPO). The proposed public issue comprises a fresh issue of up to 11.5 million equity shares, with the proceeds intended to support the company’s brewing capacity expansion and repayment of existing borrowings. The IPO marks a potential milestone in the growth of the Indian beer industry, as the company looks to strengthen its manufacturing infrastructure and expand its market presence.
According to the proposed issue structure, Mount Everest Breweries plans to allocate ₹230 crore towards partially funding a new brewing facility with an annual production capacity of 1 million hectolitres. The remaining ₹70 crore is earmarked for the repayment or pre-payment of certain outstanding borrowings. The company may also consider a pre-IPO placement, with any funds raised through such a placement adjusted against the proposed fresh issue, subject to the applicable terms.
