New Delhi: ABD Maestro has appointed Bikram Basu as Vice Chairman, expanding the senior executive’s leadership role as Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD) accelerates the integration of its luxury and super-premium spirits business with the parent company’s broader marketing and innovation strategy.
Basu, who has served as Managing Director of ABD Maestro since April 2025, will continue to oversee the subsidiary’s operations while taking on the additional responsibility of Vice Chairman. He also retains his recently expanded group-wide role as Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer of Allied Blenders & Distillers, effective August 1, 2026.

The revised leadership structure is designed to bring operations, marketing and innovation under closer coordination as ABD sharpens its focus on premiumisation and portfolio expansion in India’s fast-growing alcoholic beverages market. In his expanded role, Basu will work alongside Pradipta Basu, Chief Marketing Officer, ABDL, and Arvind Hangal, Director – Marketing and Special Accounts (On Trade), ABD Maestro, to strengthen alignment across the company’s premium and luxury brands.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the alcobev industry, Bikram Basu began his career at United Spirits before spending 14 years at Pernod Ricard India, where he handled business strategy, brand strategy, marketing and sales leadership roles. He joined Allied Blenders & Distillers in 2015 and has since held multiple leadership positions across strategy, marketing and operations, eventually taking charge of ABD Maestro.

Basu has also been actively associated with the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC), serving as Vice Chairman from 2015 to 2018 and continuing as a member of its board. He holds a B.Com from St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur, and an executive development qualification from INSEAD.
The appointment comes as part of ABD’s broader leadership restructuring, which places greater emphasis on integrating marketing, innovation and premium spirits operations under a unified growth strategy. Industry observers view the elevation as a significant step in ABD’s premiumisation roadmap, aimed at strengthening its position in the luxury and super-premium spirits segment in India while creating tighter synergies between brand building, innovation and business operations.
