Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Excise Department has announced its support for the state government’s vision of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a major electronics manufacturing hub. As part of this initiative, the department will work to simplify procedures and facilitate industrial growth in the sector.
Speaking on the matter, Dr. Adarsh Singh, Excise Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh, stated that under the Electronics Manufacturing Policy (EMP) 2025, the Excise Department will extend full cooperation to investors and industrial units establishing electronics manufacturing facilities in the state.
Dr. Singh emphasized that the policy has been designed to attract large-scale investments and generate employment opportunities. The Excise Department will ensure that all excise-related clearances and regulatory processes are streamlined, enabling investors to set up operations with ease.

- Creation of approximately three lakh employment opportunities.
- Establishment of manufacturing facilities for electronic products and components across the state.
- Provision of a capital subsidy of up to 20%, subject to a maximum limit of ₹200 crore.
- Additional incentives for research, innovation, and technology development.
- Support for infrastructure development and industrial ecosystem expansion.
Excise Department’s Role
The Excise Commissioner noted that the department is committed to creating a business-friendly environment by ensuring efficient administration and minimizing procedural hurdles for investors. He added that coordination between government departments would help accelerate industrial development and strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as a leading destination for electronics manufacturing.
