Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) has announced a reduction in liquor prices across Kerala, with the revised rates coming into effect from Tuesday. The price cut applies to several popular alcohol brands and is expected to benefit consumers across the state.
According to BEVCO officials, the reduction ranges between ₹10 and ₹50 depending on the liquor category and brand. Widely consumed labels such as Old Monk, Officer’s Choice, and Le Mount Rum are among the brands included in the revised pricing list.
Revised Liquor Prices Effective from Tuesday
The new liquor rates have officially come into force from Tuesday across all BEVCO retail outlets in Kerala. Authorities have instructed stores to update their billing systems and software to ensure seamless implementation of the revised prices.
Officials stated that 500 ml bottles are likely to witness an average reduction of around ₹10, while select mid-range and premium liquor brands may see price cuts ranging from ₹20 to ₹50. More than 50 liquor brands are expected to be covered under the latest revision.

Why Kerala Liquor Prices Were Reduced
BEVCO clarified that the price reduction is not linked to any change in state excise duties or government taxation policies. Instead, the revision has been carried out following directions from liquor manufacturing companies.
Industry sources indicated that declining sales of certain brands and changing market demand patterns also contributed to the decision. The revised pricing is expected to improve retail sales and boost consumer demand, especially among high-volume liquor brands in the state.
BEVCO Completes Billing System Updates
Officials confirmed that all necessary software and billing updates have already been completed to avoid disruptions at retail outlets. The revised prices are being implemented from the start of business operations on Tuesday.
The latest move is expected to influence buying patterns in Kerala’s alcohol retail market, where BEVCO remains the primary liquor distribution network in the state.
