Carib Premium Strong Beer Signs Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Bravo as Brand Ambassadors in India
Mumbai: Carib Brewery, a Caribbean beer brand and part of ANSA McAL, has appointed international cricket stars Nicholas Pooran and Dwayne Bravo as its brand ambassadors in India. This move marks an important step in the company’s global expansion plans.
The announcement was made during a special launch event in Lucknow, where both Trinidadian cricketers are currently present for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Nicholas Pooran is playing for Lucknow Super Giants, while Dwayne Bravo is serving as a mentor for Kolkata Knight Riders.
Carib Premium Strong Beer entered the Indian market in 2025 through Globus ANSA Private Limited, a joint venture between ANSA McAL and Globus Spirits Ltd. The beer is currently available in major cities of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Prayagraj. Its launch in India also coincided with the brand’s 75th anniversary, highlighting its global growth ambitions.

Adrian Sabga, Managing Director (International and Business Development) at Carib Brewery, said the launch in Uttar Pradesh and the presence of Pooran and Bravo in Lucknow during the IPL is a proud moment for the company. He added that India has been one of their boldest markets, and cricket continues to play a key role in connecting people and cultures.
Carib Premium Strong Beer is positioned as a strong, full-bodied lager with 8% alcohol content. Priced at around ₹130 for a 500 ml can, it has received a positive response from consumers in its initial markets.
Paramjit Singh Gill, CEO of the Consumer Division at Globus Spirits Ltd, said the launch is not just about introducing a new beer but also about celebrating the coming together of two vibrant cultures through cricket, bold flavours, and shared experiences.

Antron Forte, Head of Brand Marketing at Carib Brewery, explained that the partnership goes beyond sponsorship. He said the brand focuses on building its identity around two key cultural elements—carnival and cricket—and the journey of Pooran and Bravo reflects Carib’s own growth story from local roots to a global stage.
The collaboration with the two cricketers highlights Carib’s strategy of using cricket as a cultural link between the Caribbean and India. Pooran, who had an impressive IPL 2025 season with 525 runs and the highest number of sixes, remains a key player for Lucknow Super Giants. Bravo, a former West Indies captain and celebrated all-rounder, continues to enjoy strong popularity in India.
With this initiative, Carib Brewery aims to strengthen its presence in India by combining sport, culture, and consumer engagement, as it expands in one of the fastest-growing beer markets in the world.
