Radico Khaitan is continuing its search for a Scotch whisky distillery but is not expecting a deal anytime soon. The company says it remains open to opportunities and is taking a cautious approach before making any acquisition.
Earlier this year, the IMFL major had set up a wholly owned subsidiary in Scotland with the intention of eventually acquiring a distillery. The move was disclosed in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
However, speaking at the ProWein trade show in Düsseldorf, Sanjeev Banga, head of international business at Radico Khaitan, clarified that a purchase is not likely in the near term. He noted that while the company is keen to own a distillery in Scotland someday, it is in no rush to close a deal.

For now, Radico Khaitan is evaluating options carefully as it looks to strengthen its global presence in the premium whisky segment.
