The Andhra Pradesh Excise Department has extended the deadline for submitting applications for 807 retail liquor shops under the state’s Excise Policy 2026-27 to midnight on October 6. The fresh allotment process covers A4 liquor shops that were not renewed or are currently non-operational, with the department set to scrutinise applications on October 7 and conduct a draw of lots on October 8 to select eligible licence holders.
Prohibition and Excise Commissioner Chamakuri Sridhar said the 807 liquor shops identified for fresh allotment are spread across Andhra Pradesh. Of the total, 799 shops have been placed under the open category, while eight shops fall under the reserved category. The extension of the application deadline is aimed at providing eligible applicants additional time to complete the application process before scrutiny and allotment.

Individuals aged 21 years or above who meet the eligibility criteria and are not disqualified under the applicable excise rules can apply for the liquor shop licences. Applicants are permitted to apply for any number of shops, while multiple applications can also be submitted for the same shop. Each application requires a non-refundable application fee of ₹3 lakh, along with a processing fee of ₹1,000.
Applications for the Andhra Pradesh liquor shop allotment can be submitted through online, hybrid or offline modes, as specified in the official notification. Online applications for shops in the open category can be submitted through the designated portal, while a separate online portal has been provided for applications relating to reserved-category shops.

Successful applicants will be required to complete all statutory and regulatory formalities before obtaining the licence to operate the allotted A4 liquor shop.
The department has also clarified that obtaining a permit room licence will be mandatory for establishing and operating an A4 liquor shop. Selected applicants will therefore have to fulfil all applicable licensing, regulatory and excise requirements before commencing retail operations.
The fresh allotment of 807 liquor shops is part of Andhra Pradesh’s implementation of its Excise Policy 2026-27, covering retail outlets that were not renewed or remained non-operational.
