Recent data released by the Uttar Pradesh Excise Department highlights the growing presence of imported liquor brands in the state and reflects the increasing demand for premium and luxury alcoholic beverages. According to the report, a total of 334 imported liquor brands have been registered in Uttar Pradesh, while 11 importing companies and production entities have registered their products in the state.
Among all importers, ROOTCROPS TRADING PVT. LTD. leads the list with 154 registered brands, making it the largest importer by brand portfolio in the state.
Luxury Labels Command Premium Prices
The report reveals that luxury spirits continue to attract affluent consumers. In the cognac category, Rémy Martin Louis XIII has emerged as the most expensive registered imported liquor brand in Uttar Pradesh, carrying a maximum retail price (MRP) of ₹3,24,230.

According to the latest Excise Department database, a total of 648 unique liquor brands have been registered in the state. Records show that 85 manufacturers and product companies had completed brand registrations by the first week of May, reflecting the continued expansion and diversification of the liquor industry in Uttar Pradesh.

Premium Indian Brands Also Command High Prices
The Excise Department’s data also highlights the highest-priced Indian-made brands across various categories.
- The most expensive rum is The Kohinoor Reserve Indian Dark Rum, priced at ₹4,370.
- The highest-priced whisky is Rampur Indian Single Malt Whisky Non-Chill Filtered, with an MRP of ₹10,030.
- In the vodka segment, Smoke Lab Liquor Gold Vodka is priced at ₹5,030.
- Among wines, J’Noon India Red Wine tops the category with an MRP of ₹3,940.
