Inbrew Beverages is proud to announce that two of its craft spirits — Green Label Barrel Special Whisky and Old Cask Rum (10-year aged) — have each earned a Bronze Medal at the London Spirits Competition 2026. Now in its ninth edition, the London Spirits Competition is widely regarded as one of the world’s most rigorous and commercially grounded international spirits evaluation platforms, organised by the Beverage Trade Network.
The 2026 edition drew entries from over 30 countries, including the UK, Australia, India, Italy, the United States, Mexico, the Netherlands, and many more — reflecting the increasingly global character of the spirits industry. India was among the strongly represented markets at this year’s competition, making Inbrew’s double recognition all the more significant for the country’s growing craft spirits movement.
“To have these expressions evaluated by some of the world’s most respected spirit experts, sommeliers, and industry leaders — and get rewarded with this recognition — feels incredibly validating.”

Green Label Barrel Special Whisky, launched two years ago, is now available across 12 to 13 markets in India. It has steadily built its reputation as a quality barrel-aged whisky at an accessible price point — a rare balance in a competitive segment. Old Cask Rum, a 10-year aged rum, made its market debut just one year ago with a focused launch in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh — two states known for their discerning and loyal spirits consumers. The fact that both products are relatively young in the market makes this international recognition especially noteworthy.
Both spirits competed entirely on merit. Inbrew submitted its entries through the standard competition process — filling out the form on the official London Spirits Competition website, carefully packaging the bottles, and shipping them directly to London. There was no special communication, no lobbying, and no behind-the-scenes dialogue. The liquid went up against entries from across the globe and proved its worth independently.
The London Spirits Competition evaluates every entry on three criteria: quality, value for money, and packaging. What makes it unique is that the judging panel consists entirely of trade professionals — bartenders, bar managers, sommeliers, buyers, and on-trade experts — people who directly determine what ends up on shelves and spirits lists. The 2026 edition assembled over 70 such judges. Winners are announced annually, with the 2026 results revealed on April 22, 2026. This year’s Spirit of the Year was No.3 Gin, with entries assessed across categories including gin, whisky, rum, vodka, liqueurs, tequila, and more.
Brand Spotlight-
Green Label Barrel Special Whisky
Green Label Barrel Special Whisky is a story of revival and reinvention. The Green Label name traces its roots back to 1994, when it first became a recognisable name in Indian households — associated with its iconic ‘diamond cut wali bottle’ and a sense of classic craftsmanship. Inbrew Beverages reimagined the brand in August 2024, relaunching it as Green Label Barrel Special Whisky — a premium blend crafted from 100% grain spirits, seamlessly fused with imported Scotch that has been patiently aged in oak barrels. The result is a whisky with a rich, smooth texture and a distinctive character born from the barrel. Available in 180 ml, 375 ml, and 750 ml formats — including a contemporary Pockit-Pack for on-the-go drinkers — the whisky is currently available across 12 to 13 markets in India and is positioned to challenge leading names in the prestige segment. As Abhishek Vohra, General Manager of Inbrew Beverages, noted at the relaunch: the new Barrel Special blend “not only honours its legacy but also caters to the evolving palate of today’s whisky lovers.” The London Spirits Competition Bronze Medal is its first major international recognition — a powerful endorsement for a brand that has only just begun its second chapter.
Old Cask Rum (10-Year Aged)
Old Cask Rum is Inbrew’s bold statement in India’s premium aged rum space — and a genuinely rare one. A 10-year aged rum is a significant commitment: most mainstream Indian rums are aged for far shorter periods, making a decade-old expression a mark of genuine patience and craft. Old Cask Rum made its market debut just one year ago, with a deliberately focused launch in West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh — two of India’s most established and loyal rum-drinking markets, where consumers have long appreciated quality dark rum as a serious sipping spirit. In a country where 10-year aged domestic rum expressions are rare, Old Cask Rum occupies a distinctive space: accessible enough for loyal rum drinkers but complex enough to compete on the global stage — as its Bronze Medal at the London Spirits Competition 2026 now confirms. The rum’s recognition at LSC 2026, just one year after its market entry, signals that Inbrew’s quiet confidence in this expression was well placed, and that Old Cask Rum is poised to expand to more markets in the near future.
Inbrew Beverages carries a legacy of over 50 years in India’s alcoholic beverages industry and operates across 20+ states. The company manages an expansive portfolio spanning beer, whisky, rum, brandy, vodka, and gin — including internationally recognised brands. For a company of this scale, winning at the London Spirits Competition with two relatively young, homegrown craft expressions reflects a clear strategic intent: to build quality-first brands that can hold their own on any global stage.
For Inbrew, these two medals represent more than trophies. They are a testament to the hard work, patience, and passion that goes into every batch. The company extended a heartfelt shoutout to its entire team — from the distillers and blenders to the brand teams across every market — calling this win a collective achievement that belongs to everyone who has poured their heart into these brands.
Inbrew has made clear that this is only the beginning. With two young, award-winning expressions already earning global recognition, the company is poised to expand its craft spirits footprint to more markets and more international stages in the years ahead. As India’s spirits industry grows in global stature, wins like these signal that Indian craft spirits are well and truly arriving on the world map.
