Globus Spirits Expands in India and Eyes Global Markets

Globus Spirits, the company behind Dōaab Craft Whisky, is looking to grow both in India and internationally. The company plans to enter export markets and increase its presence in India by adding four more states this year.

Right now, Globus Spirits sells its products in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Goa, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, and Mumbai. It’s also considering entering markets like Chandigarh and Orissa.

According to Paramjit Singh Gill, CEO of the Consumer Division, the company plans to be active in around 12 states with its luxury product line and in six states with its mainstream products by the end of the 2025-26 financial year. Gill also mentioned that the company is making efforts to reach smaller towns, where there’s strong demand for its mainstream liquor products.

On the international front, Globus Spirits is targeting regions with large Indian communities. The company has already done small exports to Singapore, Australia, and the UK, and is now considering expansion into Southeast Asia, parts of Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. It’s also planning to enter duty-free outlets in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, and is exploring the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) market.

The company recently entered the beer segment through a joint venture with Caribbean-based Ansa McAL, and has started producing Carib Premium Strong Beer in Uttar Pradesh.

Globus Spirits’ luxury portfolio includes Dōaab India Craft Whisky, Terai India Dry Gin, and fruit-infused versions of Terai Gin. Their premium IMFL (Indian-Made Foreign Liquor) brands include Oakton Barrel Aged Whisky, Brothers & Co. Whisky, Snoski Vodka (including a Green Apple variant), and Mountain Oak Whisky Rum.

By the end of this year, the luxury range is expected to grow from three to about six products, while the mainstream IMFL portfolio continues to cover whiskey, gin, rum, and vodka.

With a production capacity of over 287 million bulk liters and a bottling capacity of 24.2 million cases annually, Globus Spirits operates manufacturing units in West Bengal, Bihar, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Its Rajasthan distillery alone can produce around 885 kilolitres per day.

Gill said the company aims to grow much faster than the industry average over the next few years and hopes to be recognized as a major consumer brand soon.
