Liquor Will Now Be Dispatched from Distilleries Only After Payment

To prevent irregularities in liquor supply, the Excise Department of Uttar Pradesh has introduced an Integrated Excise Supply Chain Management System. As per the new excise policy prepared for the year 2025-26, the entire process — from liquor dispatch to final sale — will now be monitored online.

Under the new system, retailers must first place an online demand with the distilleries and make full payment before the liquor is dispatched. In addition to this, all applicable taxes must also be paid online in advance. The entire process has now been made digital.

To further strengthen oversight, the Excise Department has installed CCTV cameras in distilleries to monitor liquor production and dispatch activities. Moreover, to track the movement of liquor and spirit from the factory to the final destination, GPS systems have been installed in transport vehicles.

This digital shift is aimed at ensuring transparency and preventing supply chain manipulation in the liquor industry.
