In a major crackdown on liquor smuggling, Uttar Pradesh police seized a Bihar-bound consignment of illegal liquor worth ₹10 lakh near the state border. Authorities recovered 425 cartons containing 3,672 litres of liquor and arrested two individuals involved in the smuggling.
One of the arrested smugglers has been identified as Amarjit Singh from Jayaprakash Nagar (Bhawan Tola). The consignment was reportedly being transported to Bihar, where alcohol is banned. Further investigations are underway to trace the supply network and other people involved.
