The Uttar Pradesh Excise Department has announced an extension of operational hours for retail liquor shops by 1 hour during the festive season. This decision is stated in the government order issued by the Excise Section-2, Uttar Pradesh Government, under Circular No. 1070/E-2/2024-1733158, dated December 11, 2024.
The revised timings are as follows:
Christmas Celebrations:
- From December 24, 2024 (Christmas Eve) to December 25, 2024 (Christmas Day)
- New timings: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
New Year Celebrations:
- On December 31, 2024
- New timings: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Previously, liquor shops were allowed to remain open until 10:00 PM, but the new directive extends the closing time by 1 hour, permitting operations until 11:00 PM on the mentioned dates.
