Kolhapur, Oct 17 (UNI) The Rural Police on Sunday seized Indian-made foreign liquor from a
van, collectively worth nearly Rs 5.70 lakh, at Vannur Phata on Kagal-Sidhnerli road in Kagal
tehsil of the district while allegedly being smuggled into Maharashtra from neighbouring Goa
and arrested one person in this connection.

Acting on a tip off, a team of Karveer police stopped a van at Vannur Phata on Kagal-Sidhnerli
road this evening.

The search of the vehicle led to seizure of IMFL that was being smuggled into Maharashtra from
Goa and also the van collectively worth Rs 5,69,910.

Police arrested van driver Sunil Bakaso Vagal (40), resident of Kagal tehsil town in Kagal tehsil
of the district, in this connection.

Further investigation is underway, police said.
