Navi Mumbai Police Advise Citizens to Avoid Alcohol and Drugs While Driving for a Safe Start to New Year 2025

With various events planned across hotels, farmhouses, and other venues, Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe announced that police would be stationed at key roads and junctions to ensure safety, especially for families, women, and children, as the city rings in the New Year.

In light of this, Navi Mumbai Police have urged citizens to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs on December 31 to ensure a safe start to 2025. Bharambe emphasized the importance of celebrating responsibly, aiming for a “drug-free” and “incident-free” New Year.

The police will focus on enforcing road safety laws, including a crackdown on drunk driving and drug use. Additional security measures, such as undercover officers, will be in place at large gatherings and parties in Panvel, Uran, and other areas.

To maintain order during the celebrations, police will set up check posts at key locations, especially near popular nightlife hubs, to conduct breathalyzer tests and monitor impaired driving. Those found violating traffic laws will face penalties under the Motor Vehicles Act.
