India’s premium vodka brand Smoke Lab has launched ‘Liquid Gold’, the country’s first-ever vodka infused with 24-carat edible gold flakes. The new limited-edition spirit blends Indian heritage with modern luxury, making a bold statement in the world of ultra-premium spirits.

Made from Basmati Rice, Refined Five Times

The vodka is crafted entirely from 100% pure Basmati rice, distilled five times, and filtered using Smoke Lab’s exclusive ‘Sparkle Filtration’ process. This special technique refines the vodka’s texture and clarity while keeping the gold flakes beautifully suspended, giving the drink its unique golden shimmer.

According to Jain, the process combines “technical mastery with aesthetic finesse,” resulting in a vodka that has a smooth texture, gentle aroma, and natural sweetness — perfect for sipping neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails.


Luxury with an Indian Soul

Co-founder Sanya V. Jain explains that Liquid Gold aims to redefine luxury from an Indian perspective. “We didn’t just want to create a beautiful bottle — we wanted to craft an experience that feels modern yet deeply Indian.”

Priced around ₹8,000 ($100), Liquid Gold is being released in small batches to maintain exclusivity. It was first launched in Delhi, where Smoke Lab began its journey, and is now available in Goa and Rajasthan, with international rollouts planned in Dubai and key U.S. cities like New York, Florida, Texas, and California.

While gold-infused spirits are known globally for luxury and indulgence, Smoke Lab gives it an Indian twist. “In India, gold isn’t just wealth — it’s emotion, tradition, and timeless beauty,” said Jain. “Liquid Gold celebrates that connection in every sip.”

Since its launch in 2020, Smoke Lab has built a strong presence in the premium vodka market with unique flavours like Aniseed, Saffron, and Green Chilli Mango. With Liquid Gold, the brand now aims to showcase Indian excellence on the global stage.

Premium Spirits Market on the Rise

The launch comes as India’s luxury spirits market continues to grow rapidly. Between 2019 and 2024, the segment nearly doubled — from ₹11,316 crore to ₹26,494 crore — and is expected to reach ₹44,612 crore by 2029, growing at about 11% annually, according to Monika Alcobev Limited.

India’s vodka market alone was valued at $1.26 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $1.95 billion by 2030, driven by premiumisation, cocktail culture, and rising demand for craft variants.

Major players like Radico Khaitan, Pernod Ricard India, United Spirits (Diageo), Allied Blenders & Distillers, and Piccadily are also expanding their premium portfolios to meet this demand.
