Kerala is set to enter the premium spirits segment with the launch of its own locally produced brandy on February 21. While the product rollout date has been confirmed, the brand name is still being kept under wraps.
The new brandy has been developed under the supervision of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO), marking a significant move by the state into the premium liquor market.

A Strategic Move into the Premium Segment
Officials say the brandy is aimed at positioning Kerala as a serious player in the higher-end spirits category. The launch comes at a time when demand for premium alcoholic beverages is rising across India.
Although preparations for the release are complete, the brand name has sparked discussions and is yet to be officially announced. Authorities have indicated that the final decision on naming will be revealed closer to the launch date.
Boost to Local Production
The new offering is expected to strengthen the state’s presence in the liquor industry and potentially enhance revenue. By introducing a premium label, the government hopes to tap into a more upscale consumer base while promoting locally produced spirits.
More details, including pricing and distribution plans, are likely to be shared during the official launch on February 21.
