UP’s First Mead Wine Shop Opens in Lucknow — Mbrosia Nature Living Leads the Way

Lucknow, November 2, 2025: Uttar Pradesh achieved a new milestone in its evolving excise landscape today with the opening of the state’s first-ever winery-owned retail wine shop, launched under the UP Excise Policy 2025–26.

Mr. Manvendra Deo Singh inaugurates Maeve Meadery’s first retail outlet in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

The pioneering outlet — Maeve Meadery by Mbrosia Nature Living — opened its doors in Vibhooti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, marking a historic step for locally-produced craft beverages. The initiative is led by Mr. Manvendra Deo Singh, founder of Mbrosia Nature Living, Malihabad (Lucknow).

The inauguration ceremony was graced by industry professionals, well-wishers, and visitors who celebrated the moment with a symbolic “pour” of the brand’s first craft meads.


About the Brand

Maeve Meads by MbrosiaMbrosia’s label “Maeve — Farm to Bottle” focuses on honey-based meads made from natural ingredients and traditional methods. Two distinctive variants were unveiled for sale:

  • Traditional Mint (Dry Mead) – 330 ml | ₹200
  • Mulberry Morat (Fruity Dry Mead) – 330 ml | ₹180

Both variants are gluten-free, contain no added sugar or color, and are crafted with local honey and fruits sourced from the Malihabad region.


A Step Forward Under UP’s New Excise Policy

Under the Uttar Pradesh Excise Policy 2025–26, wineries established within the state can now open their own retail shops — one in each district — to exclusively sell their in-house brands. This move aims to boost agro-based entrepreneurship, support fruit and honey producers, and encourage craft beverage innovation.
