Ajay Devgn Enters the World of Luxury Single Malts with “The GlenJourneys”

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, known for his powerful on-screen performances, has now stepped into the premium liquor industry. The actor-producer has co-founded a new luxury single malt whisky brand called The GlenJourneys, in collaboration with Cartel Bros.

A Premium Whisky Crafted in Scotland

The GlenJourneys is produced in the Scottish Highlands, renowned for their whisky-making heritage. Its latest Cask Series—finished in Rum, Bourbon, and Sherry casks—has been specially created for Indian whisky enthusiasts. Combining global craftsmanship with Indian taste preferences, the brand aims to make a strong mark in India’s fast-growing luxury single malt segment.

The whisky will be priced at ₹6,409 and the company has ambitious plans to capture 20% of India’s luxury single malt market within the next two years. The brand is already known for its Pioneer Edition, a 21-year-old Highland single malt priced at ₹50,000.

Launch Plan and Availability

The Cask Series will first hit retail shelves in Maharashtra this October, targeting 10,000 cases by the end of the financial year. Following that, the brand will expand to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, and Chandigarh in November 2025, with a national rollout expected in early 2026. Initially, it will be available at select premium retail outlets in Mumbai, before reaching other major cities.

Ajay Devgn on the Launch

Speaking about the new venture, Ajay Devgn said,

“Across the world, whisky lovers are drawn to cask-finished malts for the artistry they represent—where tradition meets innovation and patience meets precision. The GlenJourneys’ Cask Series celebrates that spirit, with every finish reflecting the quiet power of time, wood, and craftsmanship.”

Understanding Single Malt Whisky

Single malt whisky is considered the purest form of whisky, made exclusively from malted barley at a single distillery. This gives each whisky a unique flavor that reflects the local environment, water source, and craftsmanship.

Whisky vs. Single Malt — What’s the Difference?

While all single malts are whiskies, not all whiskies qualify as single malts.

  • Whisky is a broad category made from various grains like barley, corn, rye, or wheat and can be blended from multiple distilleries.

  • Single malt whisky, however, is made only from malted barley and produced in one distillery, giving it a richer, more distinct flavor.

Single malts are admired by connoisseurs for their complexity, depth, and authenticity—qualities that The GlenJourneys aims to embody.
