Carlsberg India to Invest ₹1,250 Crore in Brewery Expansion

Carlsberg India has announced a major investment of ₹1,250 crore over the next three years to strengthen its presence in India’s fast-growing beer market.

The company has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries to set up new facilities and upgrade existing ones across key states, including Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Karnataka.

A large part of this investment will go into building a new greenfield brewery in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, at a cost of about ₹500 crore. Carlsberg will also expand its existing plants (brownfield projects) in other states to boost production capacity.

This move highlights India’s importance as a priority growth market for the Danish brewer, as beer consumption continues to rise in the country.
