Hyderabad police have busted a fake liquor label manufacturing unit in Kushaiguda and arrested two men. The Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department’s State Task Force seized equipment worth nearly ₹50 lakh, including a high-end colour label printer valued at ₹30 lakh.
The arrested men, Gaddameedi Prakash and Niwavat Rajesh from Kushaiguda, were allegedly producing counterfeit government liquor labels. Another suspect, Gaddameedi Naveen Goud, was found to be operating the racket from his home.
Officials said the fake labels were being supplied not only in Telangana but also to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The bust came after investigators tracked financial transactions linked to an earlier fake liquor case in Suryapet, where spirit worth ₹4 crore was purchased and distributed to different States.
Police added that the spirit used for adulteration was being sourced from Krishna Industries in Hyderabad and distributed widely.
