Liquor shops in Mumbai will remain closed for four days due to the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. As part of the Election Commission’s guidelines, the sale of alcohol will be prohibited across the city and other parts of the state to ensure smooth elections.

The dry days will start on November 18, with liquor sales banned after 6 pm. November 19 will be a full dry day ahead of the election, and on November 20—election day—the ban will last until 6 pm. Additionally, November 23 will also be a dry day, as the Election Commission will announce the results of the Assembly polls.

This is a standard measure during elections to maintain order and prevent any disruptions. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also declared November 20 as a holiday for employees working under its jurisdiction to encourage voting participation. Any violations of the liquor ban will be met with strict action.
