LDA's Ambitious Plan Promises Vibrant Nightlife with Round-the-Clock Bars, Restaurants, and Hotels, Aiming to Generate Rs 288 Crore Revenue and Pave the Way for Similar Schemes Across Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow will soon have a dedicated stretch which will be developed as a 24×7 wine and dine street. This will give Lucknow an opportunity to make nightlife. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has earmarked a 6-acre-wide land parcel near CG City, with 15 plots between 1,200 sq m and 2,800 sq m dedicated to hotels and restaurants, which will be allowed 24×7 operation of bars.

The plan has been prepared in coordination and consultation with stakeholders including Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC), Excise (Excise) and Police departments to ensure commercial viability for potential investors. With Rs 13.66 crore to Rs 32.4 crore reserved for those willing to invest, the overall scheme has the potential to mop up at least Rs 288 crore to LDA coffers, paving the way for similar schemes in other parts of Uttar Pradesh Will happen .

According to official sources, the excise department will allow round the clock operation of bars, micro breweries and watering halls. “We will amend the rulebooks to allow day-long operation of bars within special zones,” said an official. In the Excise Policy for 2023-24, the department has already made a provision for starred properties to operate round-the-clock bars for in-house guests.

An LDA official said that the establishments will have to meet and follow the procedures laid down by the municipal corporation, FSSAI, excise, police and fire departments. Once all NOCs are in place, we will allow 24×7 operations and coordinate as well. Other departments should expedite the necessary applications to make the Fine Dining Street plan a success.
