The 15th edition of INDSPIRIT 2023, Asia’s Mega Alcobev trade event took place at the Hotel Andaz, Aerocity, New Delhi on the 23rd of March, 2023. The one-day event featured its renowned Conference during the day with the support of leading industry associations International Spirits & Wines Association of India (ISWAI), All India Distillers Association (AIDA), All India Brewers Association (AIBA) and Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies followed by the coveted Ambrosia Awards in the evening.

The event was a huge success with many leading players from the Alcobev Industry in attendance. The third-largest and fastest-growing market, India, was the focus of more and more new players looking at entering the local market.

INDSPIRIT 2023, 15th Edition conference had a full-day program that revolved around the theme “Changing Times, Sustainability & Future of the Alcobev Industry in India”. The conference had various topics and panel discussions that discussed the pressing issues of the Alcobev industry in India.

Thorsten Hartmann, the Director of Custom Analytics at IWSR, UK, spoke on “Global Beverage Alcohol Trends,” highlighting the latest trends in the global market. The panel discussion on “Cost Escalation of Raw Materials: the Burning Issue of the Alcobev Industry” moderated by Raju Vaziraney, Advising President, IGL Ltd., had four panelists, Arbind Singh, Aditya Patwardhan, and V Raina, who discussed the significant challenge of cost escalation of raw materials in the Alcobev industry.

The conference also had a panel discussion on the topic, “How Women are Driving the Industry Forward,” which was powered by ISWAI. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Arpita Mukherjee, a member of Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). The panelists, Nita Kapoor, Anmol Gill, Aditi Chauhan Mukherji, and Varna Bhat, shared their personal and professional journeys in the industry and how they are contributing to the growth of the Alcobev industry in India.

The topic, “Innovation in Packaging for Value Creation: Cut Cost without cutting corners,” had Srinavas Mantri, Anu Bhargava, and Vinod Sharma as panelists, discussed the importance of innovative packaging in value creation while cutting costs in the Alcobev industry. The discussion was moderated by Bhavya Desai, Group Head & CEO, SAP MEDIA WORLDWIDE LTD.

Lastly, the topic, “Sustainability in ESG (Environment, Social & Governance),” had two panelists, Yashika Singh and Manu Karan, who discussed the significance of sustainability in ESG in the Alcobev industry.

The INDSPIRIT 2023 and Ambrosia Awards continues to be the premium Alcobev trade event and entered to its 30th year, paving the way for more opportunities and growth in the industry. The event was a must-attend for anyone connected to the Alcobev Industry and it certainly did not disappoint.

In the evening, the event also featured a tasting session of various wine and spirit brands, which was followed by the highly anticipated awards ceremony and cocktail dinner.

One of the highlights of the evening was the awarding of the Young Entrepreneur award of the Year to Ms. Varna Bhat, CEO of Blisswater Industries Pvt. Ltd. for her outstanding contribution to the industry. Ms. Bhat has been making craft spirits like Rahasya Vodka and Yaksha Premium whisky and was honoured to receive the award.

Another exciting moment was when Roku, The Japanese Craft Gin from The House of Suntory won Best Premium Gin in India at The Ambrosia Awards, IndSpirit 2023. The event also recognized Pernod Ricard India for its outstanding contribution in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices in the alco-beverage industry.
