The excise dept on Thursday seized a truck transporting liquor worth Rs 28.53 lakh at the Patradevi checkpoint. The liquor was allegedly being smuggled out of the state to Maharashtra. Nearly 635 boxes of cheap liquor were hidden in the vehicle. The driver claims he was unaware as to how the liquor ended up in the truck stating that he took charge of the vehicle in Panjim. Further investigation is on.
