Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party manning the Excise Checkgate at Dillai conducting routine frisking duty recovered 400 cases of IMFL from the truck on January 4.
The duty party led by Allen Jami AIE; Khekhavi H/C; T K Medom H/C; and constables Akahoto, Thejong Khalenthung, Tsathongli, Thrilise, Wati and Sorila found the liquor concealed along with cement bags, a press release from the Dimapur District Excise.
In this connection, one person identified as Parshu Sahu (27) of Kohora village under Bokahat PS of Golaghat district, Assam was booked under the relevant section of the NLTP Act’89, it said.
On preliminary inquiry, it was established that the IMFL was loaded at Jorabat Guwahati and was destined for Senapati, Manipur, the release further informed.
The case is currently under investigation and the seized material has been deposited at the Excise malkhana for later destruction, it added.
