SK Sachdeva, chief operating officer of the Saraswati Sugar Mills (SSM), Yamunanagar flagged off an ethanol-laden truck on Thursday.

The ethanol has been supplied to the depot of Indian Oil Corporation, Rewari.

“With the production capacity of 100-kilo litre per day, the ethanol production plant is working at 100 per cent capacity since its inception,” said SK Sachdeva. He said a molasses-based ethanol production plant had been set up with an investment of Rs 200 crore on the premises of the SSM. He further said the ethanol plant was inaugurated through video link by Aditya Puri, managing director of the company on December 22, 2021. “After the inauguration of the ethanol plant, the consignment (ethanol) was first time sent to the Indian Oil Corporation at Rewari, today,” said SK Sachdeva.

Sachdeva said this ethanol plant was a big achievement for Haryana and Yamunanagar district. “This ethanol plant will prove to be a milestone in the success story of the ‘self-reliant India’, scheme, launched by the Government of India to make India self-reliant in all fields,” said SK Sachdeva. On this occasion, DP Singh, senior vice-president (cane) of SSM, Manoj Verma, SK Bhardwaj, Kuldeep Chaudhary and Sudhir Chandna, in-charge of Ethanol Plant were present. — TNS
