Medusa Brings Draught Beer to Delhi, Speeds Up Nationwide Expansion

Medusa Beverages has introduced draught beer in Delhi, marking a major step in strengthening its presence in restaurants, bars, and hotels. The company has already installed beer taps at 25 outlets in the city and plans to expand to 100 locations by the end of this year.

Delhi continues to be Medusa’s biggest and most established market. In FY25, the city accounted for around 5.4 lakh cases and contributed over 10 per cent of the total market share. The draught beer launch is aimed at building deeper connections with consumers while increasing visibility in high-footfall on-trade locations.

“Our main focus this year is draught beer. It helps us reach more customers in the HORECA segment and lets us serve fresher beer. It’s also more sustainable because kegs are reused, which cuts down packaging waste,” said Avneet Singh, Founder and CEO, Medusa Beverages.

The company is also seeing strong demand from Haryana and plans to begin draught beer operations in Gurugram soon. A Karnataka launch is expected around September.

Alongside draught beer, Medusa is expanding its bottled beer presence. By the end of February, the brand will enter new markets including Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Kerala, marking its push into South India.

To support this growth, Medusa has set up local breweries in Karnataka and Jharkhand, nearly doubling its production capacity. With these additions, the company will operate in 13 states and plans to enter three to four more states in the next financial year. Total production capacity is expected to reach nearly 3 lakh hectolitres per year.

Sales have also seen strong growth. By January, Medusa sold 1.1 million cases, up from 0.95 million cases last year. The company expects to close FY26 at around 1.4 million cases, a year-on-year growth of 40–45 per cent, and is targeting 2.5 million cases by FY27.

On the financial front, Medusa expects net revenue of ₹90–100 crore in FY26, with gross revenue close to ₹200 crore. For FY27, net revenue is projected at around ₹150 crore, while gross revenue may touch ₹300 crore. Looking further ahead, the company aims to achieve gross revenue of about ₹1,200 crore by FY29–30. Excise duty currently accounts for roughly half of gross revenue.

Speaking about exports, Singh said the company is currently focused on the Indian market. “We’ve shipped our first container to Dubai. If demand picks up, we may explore local brewing there, as beer is largely a local business,” he said.

In January 2025, Medusa raised ₹56 crore in a Series A funding round led by investors Amal N Parikh and Ashwin Kedia, with participation from Ramesh Damani, Nikhil Garg, Crest Opportunities, and several HNIs from Singapore, the UK, and the UAE. The company now plans to raise a bridge round, followed by a Series B funding round by the end of Q1 FY27.
