YSRCP State Official Spokesperson Yanamala Nagarjuna Yadav has accused the Chandrababu Naidu–led government of allowing a massive fake liquor network to flourish in Andhra Pradesh. He alleged that the state is now functioning under a “Babu–Beer–Sarkaru” system, where counterfeit liquor is being produced on a large scale with the support of ruling party leaders. According to him, nearly half of the liquor being sold in the state is fake.
A major illegal liquor-making unit that was recently busted in Mulakalacheruvu was allegedly run by TDP leader and Tamballapalle in-charge Jayachandra Reddy along with his friend Addempalli Janardhan Rao. Even though there is clear evidence, Nagarjuna Yadav said that no action has been taken against Jayachandra Reddy, while people who exposed the racket are being harassed.
The scam came to light when a milk van belonging to Jayachandra Reddy’s personal assistant was caught supplying large quantities of fake liquor bottles to shops. Shockingly, the illegal unit was operating just 200 meters away from the local Excise Police Station for 15 months without being detected, raising questions about political and departmental involvement.
Janardhan Rao, who returned from Africa on his own, was arrested only formally. His initial statement did not mention former minister Jogi Ramesh. However, after 24 days, a second statement was allegedly forced from him to wrongly implicate Ramesh, which the YSRCP claims was done out of political revenge because he had exposed around 27,000 fake bottles in Vijayawada earlier.
Nagarjuna Yadav further said that the entire fake liquor network—from production to sale—is controlled by TDP leaders, but instead false cases are being filed against YSRCP leaders. He warned that officials helping such political vendetta will face legal action when YS Jagan returns to power. He added that the YSRCP will continue to expose this TDP-backed fake liquor mafia that is putting public safety at risk across all 26 districts.
