The celebrations after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clinched their first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title went beyond fireworks and street parties—Karnataka saw a massive surge in liquor sales, collecting a record ₹157.94 crore on June 3 alone.
RCB’s long-awaited victory over Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final sent fans across the state into a frenzy. As excitement peaked, so did alcohol consumption. On that single day:

1.48 lakh boxes of beer were sold, generating ₹30.66 crore, up sharply from last year’s 36,000 boxes and ₹6.29 crore.

1.28 lakh boxes of other spirits like whiskey, rum, and vodka contributed ₹127.88 crore, compared to ₹19.41 crore the same day last year.
This marked a staggering ₹132 crore increase from June 3, 2024, when total liquor sales stood at ₹25 crore.
RCB’s Victory Parade and Citywide Festivities
After lifting the trophy for the first time in 18 years, the RCB squad, led by Rajat Patidar, returned to Bengaluru for a grand victory parade. The procession kicked off from Vidhana Soudha and concluded at Chinnaswamy Stadium, with thousands of fans lining the 1.4 km stretch.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah honored the team, calling it a moment of pride for Karnataka:
“The 18-year wait of millions has ended. Today, all of Karnataka celebrates.”

Virat Kohli, who’s been the face of RCB since the start, expressed his joy after the final:
