Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABD), India’s third-largest spirits company by volume, has launched a new premium brandy called Golden Mist in Karnataka. This move marks ABD’s entry into the fast-growing prestige brandy market, which is currently expanding at a strong 13.1% rate in the region.
Golden Mist is aged in French oak barrels and has a rich amber color. It offers a smooth flavor with notes of grapes, licorice, honey, and a touch of spice — aiming to appeal to consumers who are looking for authentic and high-quality mid-premium options.
The brandy is available in four sizes:
-
750ml for ₹970
-
375ml for ₹485
-
180ml for ₹235
-
90ml for ₹120
In a unique twist, ABD has introduced a special 180ml “Hippy pack”, a different packaging style alongside the regular glass bottles.
Speaking about the launch, ABD’s Managing Director Alok Gupta said that Golden Mist brings together tradition, authenticity, and a rich taste at an affordable price — exactly what today’s consumers are looking for. He also mentioned that this launch is part of ABD’s plan to strengthen its presence in the premium spirits segment.
Golden Mist joins ABD’s broader portfolio, which already includes popular brands like Officer’s Choice Whisky and Sterling Reserve Premium Whiskies.
Meanwhile, shares of Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd were trading at ₹315.70, down by ₹5.45 or 1.70% on the NSE today.
