Liquor Prices Change in Rajasthan from Today: Some Brands Costlier, Some Cheaper

Jaipur, April 15: Starting today, liquor prices across Rajasthan have been revised. The state’s Excise Department has put the new prices into effect for all licensed liquor shops.

According to the department’s official website, many popular English liquor brands, including beer and whiskey, have become up to 5% more expensive. On the other hand, prices for a few selected brands have come down by a similar margin.

Depending on the brand, price increases range from ₹15 to as high as ₹1,500 compared to last year.

Liquor retailers have been instructed to display the updated price list clearly at their shops and to sell alcohol only at the new maximum retail price (MRP). The department has also warned of strict action against any shop found overcharging. Consumers can report such cases directly to the Excise Department.

The updated rate list for Indian-made foreign liquor, beer, and other alcoholic beverages is available to the public on the Excise Department’s website under the “Approved Rate List” section.

Pradeep Singh Sangawat, Additional Director of the Excise Department, shared that nearly 1,400 types of liquor are sold in Rajasthan. Most have seen a price revision of between 1% to 5%, either upwards or downwards.

With over 7,700 licensed liquor shops operating in the state, the liquor trade continues to be a major source of income for the Rajasthan government. In the last financial year (2024–25), the Excise Department collected a record revenue of ₹17,200 crore — the highest among all departments.

However, liquor vendors have expressed concern that their profit margins on Indian-made foreign liquor have reduced significantly after the new pricing was announced.
