Customers visiting the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) Elite outlets are often left disappointed due to a shortage of premium Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and beer brands. Many complain that their favorite brands are regularly out of stock, leaving them frustrated.
During a recent visit to Elite Tasmac shops in Anna Nagar, Velachery, and other areas of Chennai, several popular liquor brands were found to be unavailable. One customer, M. Prakash, from Velachery, noted that premium IMFL brands tend to sell out quickly as soon as they’re restocked. He also mentioned that the 100% malt beer recently introduced by Tasmac is often out of stock.
Some customers have even reported arguments with the staff over unavailable products. There are also claims that Tasmac staff are pressuring customers to buy only specific brands. To help clear up confusion, one customer suggested that Tasmac display a list of available liquor brands and their prices outside the stores.
Tasmac acknowledged the issue, explaining that delays in supply are happening at certain outlets due to ongoing computerization efforts.
