AB InBev, the company behind Budweiser, announced plans to build a new beer manufacturing plant in Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore. The commitment was made during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, as confirmed by an official spokesperson on January 22, 2025.
The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Uttar Pradesh’s chief secretary, Manoj Kumar Singh, and Kartikeya Sharma, AB InBev’s president for India affairs.
AB InBev, based in Belgium, is known for popular beer brands like Budweiser, Corona, and Stella Artois. With operations in over 50 countries, the company’s move to invest in Uttar Pradesh is seen as an important step in the state’s industrial growth.
The site for the new plant includes 36 hectares in the YEIDA area (Sector 24), with an additional 1,000 hectares being acquired. This project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the state, such as job creation, skill development, and better use of Uttar Pradesh’s growing infrastructure and transportation networks.
