In 2024, Gujarat’s State Monitoring Cell (SMC) seized illegal liquor worth ₹22.52 crore as part of its ongoing crackdown on alcohol-related offenses. The SMC, which operates under the Director General of Police (DGP), registered a total of 455 cases. Out of these, 347 cases were specifically related to foreign liquor and other illegal substances.

Junagadh had the smallest seizure, with only ₹12.59 lakh worth of liquor, while the Railway Police seized ₹6.71 lakh worth.
