India’s whiskies are gaining increasing international recognition, with local brands challenging the global dominance of traditional whisky producers like Scotland and the U.S. One notable example is Indri Dru, a single malt whisky from Haryana, which won five medals at the USA Spirits Ratings in August 2024, including Whiskey of the Year and Single Malt Whiskey of the Year.
Another standout, Godawan from Rajasthan, took home prestigious awards such as the Taste Master of the Year at The Spirits Business World Whisky Masters in London and Single Malt Whisky of the Year at the London Spirits Competition earlier in the year. These achievements highlight the growing global acclaim for Indian whisky brands.
