Tasmac has made it mandatory for its outlets in six districts to issue bills for every liquor purchase, following the rollout of full computerisation at these locations

The districts affected are Chengalpet, Kancheepuram, Arakkonam (Ranipet), Ramanathapuram, Karur, and Sivagangai.

In a recent circular, Tasmac’s managing director, S Visakan, instructed salesmen to scan the liquor bottles only after a customer places an order. This move is part of Tasmac’s phased approach to fully computerise its operations. The decision comes after customers complained about not receiving bills for their purchases. Additionally, there were discrepancies between digital sales data and the figures reported by salesmen.

To address these issues, Tasmac has warned that hefty penalties will be imposed if the sales figures do not match the digital records.
